Welcome, adventurer, to the continent of Elthyria. Once the pinnacle of culture and progress, it has been reduced to a shadow of its former self over the 200 years since the Convergence, when rifts to the Feywild began opening and spreading arcane mists through the realm. Mist Storms tear across the landscape, carrying ominous twilight laced with arcane energy that leaves both folk and beast denizens warped distortions of themselves. Once great cities are either reduced to ruins or are shells of their former glory; dense slums crowded around ancient Sunshards that protect them from the arcane elements.

Our story begins in the city of Solport, the capital of the former Elthyrian Empire. It is home to the first, and largest, Sunshard. Once a thriving city, Solport has grown isolated and distrustful of outsiders over the generations since the Convergence. The noble class has found comfort in The Inner Ring of the city, in the light of the Sunshard's protection, while the working class and common folk are subjected to the unstable conditions of The Fourth Ring and The Outer Ring–where the Sunshard's light progressively loses its influence.
