04The Party made a dash for the horses, attempting to escape Commander Vaess and The Wardens. Mudge got tangled with some The Wardens attempting to detain him while Redact came to his aid, fighting back and stabbing a pursuer. Boris and Joshua made a clean escape, with only their horse taking an arrow to the haunch which was quickly remedied by the duo. Nyx, Mudge, and Redact fought to separate themselves from The Wardens. Commander Vaess beckoned for Bast Renwick to join the fray, but he was temporarily subdued when Mudge's Unseen Servant speared him to the ground. When the group made it to the road, Commander Vaess raised a hand and called for the pursuit to halt. For now. #battle
03Boris Brimsley and Joshua Dean see Sashe Tawnsey bruised and bloodied in the caravan. They both make a run for it. Redactali Sukehiro and Zyla Nyx see them running and take their chance as well. Mudge sees the others running and notices two wardens approaching him from the side with rope in hand. He ducks out of their grasp and makes a run for it with The Wardens hot on his heels.
03Commander Vaess arrived with a retinue of seven other The Wardens. As she sized up the survivors, Boris mentioned to that that they had fought the creatures in the smoke and felt a jolt of energy after an odd magical attack. Boris then spoke with Bast Renwick inside the garrison, talks to Bast Renwick, asking too many questions about the tattered clothing and the nature of the creatures. Bast Renwick responds, "You have a keen mind. I'd be cautious with that. It's dangerous."
01The Wardens eventually boarded the fresh recruits onto 3 caravans. Unfamiliar faces on the first, the party-to-be on the second, and Giles Drythey and his crew on the third. The recruits were notified there was one more straggler to pick up - Redactali Sukehiro was being held in a jail cell nearby. As the caravan pulled up and Renick Darnel approached, the guards warned him that she was accused of practicing forbidden rituals. After a long moment of searching into her eyes, he nodded and accepted her on board. The Party left the district of Mal Pavo and entered the fringe of The Mists.
01At the pickup location for The Wardens, a young and somewhat hostile man by the name of Giles Drythey approached Boris Brimsley, taking a problem with his fine clothing. Upon learning who Boris Brimsley was, Giles Drythey's disdain only grew. It turned out that his father had been bankrupted by a curse inflicted on Boris Brimsley's magnum opus, Highland Girl. 20 days of labor gone, and generational hate born.
01We began on an overcast, late winter day. A chill hung in the air and the bleak light of the Solsun cast a fluorescent haze over the city of Solport. Most of our party was introduced on their way to report to The Wardens. Zyla Nyx, was conscripted from jail, took the offer that gave her a taste of freedom. Joshua Dean and Boris Brimsley, wound down after lunch rush at the restaurant, chatted and made their final preparations. Mudge left Inked Arcana and The Alleycat in the care of his apprentice, Liora Flint, and made his way to the town square.
